Not every fire begins with a forgotten pan. Damaged cords, cracked outlets, faulty controls, and unsuitable cookware can create electrical or heat-related hazards. A burner that cycles unpredictably, a cooktop that will not turn off, or a plug that feels hot deserves prompt attention from a qualified professional.
Portable appliances can add risk, too. Hot plates, countertop burners, and extension cords are not substitutes for properly installed cooking equipment. Overloaded outlets and damaged power cords can turn a cooking-area problem into an electrical fire.
