The upgrade that lets your CTS Sensor automatically turn off your stove
Already have a CTS Smart Kitchen Sensor? The Power Cut-Off Unit is the add-on that takes it from alerting you to danger to automatically eliminating it. Without this unit, your CTS Sensor can warn you. With it, the system can cut power to your stove entirely, without you needing to be there. The Power Cut Off also includes a wall mounting option.
How It Works
The Power Cut-Off Unit plugs directly into your existing 240V wall outlet — the same outlet your stove already uses. Your stove then plugs into the Cut-Off Unit. When the CTS Smart Sensor detects a dangerous situation and the danger isn't resolved, the Cut-Off Unit immediately kills power to the stove.
It also continuously monitors whether your stove is drawing power, giving you insights into power consumption, and so you can see at a glance whether the stove is on or off — directly in the CTS app. This is especially useful for caregivers and property managers who want to confirm a stove is off without being physically present.
Restoring Power After a Shut-Off
Once you've confirmed the stove knobs or dials are in the off position, you can restore power by pressing the button on the CTS Smart Sensor. Power will not restore on its own, giving you full control over when the stove comes back on.
Compatible With
- 4-prong 240V outlets — used by most modern electric ranges
- 3-prong 240V outlets — used by older electric ranges
Not compatible with gas stoves or 120V appliances. Requires a CTS Smart Kitchen Sensor to function.
Installation
The Cut-Off Unit plugs directly into your 240V wall outlet — no tools, no electrician, no wiring required. Your stove plugs into the Cut-Off Unit. The CTS app walks you through the full setup step by step. The Power Cut Off also includes a wall mounting option.
Who It's For
This is the right purchase if you already own a CTS Smart Kitchen Sensor and want to add automatic shut-off capability. It's particularly useful for:
- Sensor-only owners who want to upgrade to full automatic protection
- Property managers retrofitting existing sensor deployments across multifamily, student, or vacation rental units
- Caregivers who need the reassurance that the stove can be shut off remotely, not just alarmed
