How to install the CTS Smart Kitchen Sensor
The CTS system is designed to install yourself in about 10 minutes, with no electrician and no tools. Here is the whole process, start to finish.
Step by step
Four steps to a protected stove
Mount the sensor
Place the CTS Smart Kitchen Sensor on the wall behind the stove, 12 to 16 inches above it, using the included 3M Command strips. Aim it so it has a clear view of the burners. No drilling required.
Connect the CTS Power Cutoff (if you purchased it)
The CTS Power Cutoff is the part that physically shuts the stove off. If you have it, unplug the stove from its 240V wall outlet, plug the Power Cutoff into the outlet, then plug the stove into the Power Cutoff. It matches your outlet, 3-prong or 4-prong. If you do not have a Power Cutoff, skip to the next step, the sensor will still warn you but will not be able to shut the stove off on its own.
Download the app and connect
Power everything on, download the free CTS Mobile App, create your account, and follow the in-app steps to connect the sensor to your home Wi-Fi. The core safety features work offline, but Wi-Fi enables alerts and remote control.
Confirm and test
The app confirms the sensor can see the stove. If it was ever bumped out of position, a quick recalibration in the app realigns it. That is it, the stove is protected.

Before you start
What it works with. The CTS system fits electric ranges, radiant, coil, and induction, on a standard North American 240V outlet (3-prong or 4-prong). It is not compatible with gas ranges yet.
Where to mount it. On the wall behind the stove, 12 to 16 inches above the cooking surface, with a clear line of sight to the burners.
