The CTS Smart Kitchen Sensor

The CTS Smart Kitchen Sensor mounts above the stove and reads the heat coming off the pots and pans. As the stove heats, its lights turn from warm to hot, and when cooking turns dangerous it sounds an alarm and announces what is wrong. Paired with the CTS Power Cutoff, it shuts off power to the stove on its own before a fire can start.

Distraction happens. Fires don't have to.

Without the CTS Power Cutoff, the sensor still watches and warns you, but it can't turn the stove off. The full system can.

What is inside

The CTS Smart Kitchen Sensor with its parts labeled: button, temperature sensor, status lights, and speaker
1 Button The CTS panel is a button. After a power cutoff, press it to restore power to the stove.
2 Temperature sensor Reads the heat coming off the pots and pans and detects cooking. It senses temperature only, not a camera, and never records video or audio.
3 Status lights The CTS panel and the ring around the edge light up to show the stove's state.
4 Speaker On the back of the sensor. It beeps and uses voice alerts that announce what is happening.

At a glance

What the lights mean

While the stove is heating, the lights turn from yellow as it warms to red as it nears an unsafe temperature. They are off when the stove is cool, and gently wave when someone is present.

The alerts

The alerts that matter

When any of these happens, an alarm sounds, the lights flash red, and a voice announces which alert it is, so someone can step in.

Dangerous temperature The sensor predicts when the stove could reach an unsafe temperature and warns you before a problem can happen.
Immediate danger The stove has reached a temperature that can start a cooking fire and needs attention right away.
Unattended cooking The stove has been left on with no one present for too long. The hotter the stove, the sooner it speaks up, and a chime plays when 30 and 15 seconds remain as a reminder to return.
Home temperature Beyond the stove, the sensor keeps an eye on the ambient temperature of the whole home, so a room that gets dangerously hot or cold does not go unnoticed.

With the CTS Power Cutoff

It shuts the stove off on its own

When the CTS Power Cutoff is installed, the stove is shut off if an alert goes unattended, or remotely from the CTS Mobile App. It stays off until someone restores power, so nothing turns back on by itself.

Shut off, not locked

One press of the button on the sensor restores power, right at the stove, with no breaker to reset. Power comes back only when someone presses it, so the stove never turns itself back on.

Disabled and locked

A locked stove cannot be powered on at the sensor. Unlock it first in the CTS Mobile App, then press the button on the sensor to restore power.

Two ways to get protected

The sensor watches the stove and warns you either way. The CTS Power Cutoff adds the part that shuts the stove off on its own.
