Our story at Cooktop Safety began not with a business idea, but with a deeply personal experience. As the founder, I understand firsthand the challenges of caring for a loved one. My journey as a caregiver to parents who, like many aging individuals, faced new risks in their own home. I was constantly seeking solutions that could provide peace of mind without compromising their independence. This experience revealed a critical gap in home safety: while traditional smoke alarms and fire extinguishers were reactive, I wanted a solution that was proactive a technology that could predict and prevent a dangerous situation before it ever had a chance to escalate. This personal mission to help others better navigate aging in place and caregiving became the foundation of Cooktop Safety Corporation (CTS).

The Professional Journey: A Passion for Predictive Technology

My technical background has been dedicated to innovation for over two decades. I have extensive experience in IoT product development with a focus on predictive and preventative technology solutions for various sectors, including AgeTech, PropTech, and connected kitchens. As a key contributor to multiple tech startups and successful exits, I've leveraged my team's expertise in AI and sensor product development to create transformative solutions. This passion for using technology to make lives safer is what drove us to create the CTS Smart Kitchen Sensor.

The statistics are alarming: cooking is the leading cause of all residential fires. In fact, cooktops were involved in 61% of reported home cooking fires and 87% of cooking fire deaths. Human factors such as digital distraction, multi-tasking, and cognitive impairment make cooking potentially dangerous. At Cooktop Safety, our mission is to address this problem with a sophisticated Fire Prediction and Prevention System that utilizes thermal imagery. Our goal is simple: to help reduce home fires by up to 50% and to provide genuine peace of mind.
